# Stop a chat's in-flight turn

`POST /v1/chats/{chatId}/stop`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://docs.grepr.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://docs.grepr.ai/v1/chats/{chatId}/stop`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `GREPR-API-KEY`
  - OpenID Connect (`https://grepr-prod.us.auth0.com/.well-known/openid-configuration`)

Signals the chat's workflow to abort the current turn but stay alive, parked for the next message. Returns 202 immediately.

- `chatId` string, required

## Response `202`

Stop requested

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Chat not found
- `409`: Chat is no longer running
