# Start a GreenBot thread

`POST /assistant/threads`

The title defaults to "New chat"; the first user message replaces a default title with its first 34 characters plus an ellipsis. Requires org.view_dashboard.

## Request body

- AssistantThreadCreateRequest
  - `title` string

## Response `201`

The new thread

- AssistantThreadResponse
  - `data` AssistantThread, required
    - `activeJobs` integer — Queued and running background jobs in the thread.
    - `createdAt` string, date-time, required
    - `id` string, required
    - `title` string, required
    - `unread` boolean — A continuation landed since the thread was last opened (GET thread clears it).
    - `updatedAt` string, date-time, required
    - `waitingForUser` boolean — A workflow in the thread waits for the user (a card to confirm, or a page to finish on).

- `400` — Bad Request
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `403` — Forbidden
