# Revoke user permissions

`POST /v3/users/{id}/revoke_permissions`

## Request

    - Authorization code: `https://auth.greenhouse.io/authorize`

  - HTTP bearer

Demote a Site Admin to a Basic user, removing their organization-wide access. This also clears the user's existing per-job role grants (`user_job_permissions`). Safe to call on a user who is already a Basic user and still returns 204. Use `POST /v3/users/revoke_permissions/bulk` to demote multiple users in one call.
