# List demographic answers

`GET /v3/demographic_answers`

Demographic answers are individual applicant submissions to the organization's voluntary demographic questions on a job post — distinct from the federally-mandated EEOC questionnaire, which has its own resource. Each row pairs an `application` with a `demographic_question` and the chosen `demographic_answer_option`; multi-select questions return one row per selected option, and rows backing a free-form `Other` choice carry the applicant's text in `free_form_text`. These responses are self-identification data and should be treated with the same sensitivity as EEOC responses.

  - `application_id` integer: Id of the application this answer was submitted on. Demographic answers are scoped to a single application; if the same candidate applies to another job they re-answer the questionnaire and a new set of answers is created.
  - `demographic_question_id` integer: Id of the `demographic_question` this answer responds to. One application produces at most one row per question per `demographic_answer_option`.
  - `demographic_answer_option_id` integer, nullable: Id of the `demographic_answer_option` the applicant selected. `null` when the applicant skipped the question, when the question is multi-select and this row carries only the free-form text, or when the option has since been hard-deleted. For multi-select questions one row is returned per chosen option.
  - `free_form_text` string, nullable: Applicant-supplied text for `free_form` answer options (e.g. an `Other — please describe` choice). `null` when the selected option is not marked free-form or when no text was entered. Highly sensitive self-identification data — handle with the same care as EEOC responses.
