# Read current proof state

`GET /api/v1/proofs/{jti}/status`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Look up whether a proof is active, consumed, revoked, expired or unknown in this environment.

## Path parameters

- `jti` string, required

## Response `200`

Proof id and active, consumed, revoked, expired or unknown state.

- ProofStatus: Current scoped server state for a proof identifier. Use proof verification and consumption before execution.
  - `expires_at` string, nullable: Expiry time as an ISO 8601 timestamp. Use the capability before this time; obtain a fresh one afterward.
  - `jti` string, required: Proof identifier from a verified proof or trusted authorization trace.
  - `revoked_at` string, nullable: Revocation time as an ISO 8601 timestamp, or null when not revoked.
  - `status` 'active' | 'consumed' | 'revoked' | 'expired' | 'unknown', required: active, consumed, revoked, expired or unknown. Only active is eligible for attempted consumption.

## Other responses

- `422`: The canonical handler returns a Problem for invalid input; correct the request before retrying.
