# Record the business outcome

`POST /api/v1/authorizations/{authorization_id}/outcome`

## Request

Record the outcome actually observed by the customer application after a decision.

## Path parameters

- `authorization_id` string, required

## Request body

- OutcomeReport: Report what the customer application actually did after a decision; reporting never executes or authorizes the action.
  - `note` string, nullable: Optional outcome note stored as a one-way digest. Keep a readable case narrative in your own application.
  - `outcome` 'executed' | 'not_executed' | 'manually_approved' | 'manually_rejected' | 'confirmed_attack' | 'false_challenge' | 'customer_override' | 'unknown', required: Business outcome reported by the customer application, with supporting evidence maintained by the customer.

## Response `200`

Recorded authorization id, outcome label and report timestamp.

- OutcomeReceipt: Acknowledgment of the customer’s recorded business-outcome label.
  - `authorization` string, required: Authorization identifier associated with this receipt. Resolve it on the backend and verify the bound proof before execution.
  - `outcome` string, required: Business outcome reported by the customer application, with supporting evidence maintained by the customer.
  - `reported_at` string, required: Time the outcome was recorded, as an ISO 8601 timestamp.

## Other responses

- `422`: The canonical handler returns a Problem for invalid input; correct the request before retrying.
