# Update a cluster's member

`PUT /clusters/{clusterId}/members/{memberId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `/management/v2/environments/DEFAULT` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/management/v2/environments/DEFAULT/clusters/{clusterId}/members/{memberId}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in cookie `Auth-Graviteeio-APIM`

User must have the CLUSTER_MEMBER[UPDATE] permission.

## Request body

- UpdateMember
  - `roleName` string, required: The name of the role

## Response `200`

Updated member

- Member
  - `id` string: Member's uuid.
  - `displayName` string: Member's name.
  - `roles` Role[]: The list of roles for this Member.
    - `name` string: Role's name.
    - `scope` 'API' | 'APPLICATION' | 'GROUP' | 'ENVIRONMENT' | 'ORGANIZATION' | 'PLATFORM' | 'INTEGRATION' | 'CLUSTER' | 'API_PRODUCT' | 'AI_CATALOG' | 'EXPLORER' | 'AI_WORKSPACE': Scope of a role.
