# Get Visitor Statistics

`POST /visitors/{resource}/statistics`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://be.graph8.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://be.graph8.com/api/v1/visitors/{resource}/statistics`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Counts over the visitor stream, filtered.

`companies` counts UNIQUE BY IP, `contacts` does not - the two series are
not comparable row for row and should not be charted as if they were.

## Path parameters

- `resource` 'contacts' | 'companies', required: What to count.

## Query parameters

- `include_bots` boolean: Also count bot and crawler traffic. Off by default: events from self-identified crawlers, headless browsers, HTTP libraries and datacenter/cloud networks are excluded.
- `include_internal` boolean: Also count internal traffic. Off by default: the graph8 app (app.graph8.com), local development hosts and your own team members (member emails and company email domains) are excluded.

## Headers

- `Authorization` string, nullable
- `X-Target-Org-Id` string, nullable

## Request body

- object[]: Filter conditions, each `{field, operator, value}` - e.g. `{"field": "received_at", "operator": "greaterThanOrEqual", "value": "2025-01-01"}`. An empty list means no filtering. Left as an open shape because the operator vocabulary is the app's and still moves; an enum here would reject a filter the app accepts.

Successful Response

- ApiResponseVisitorStatisticsResponse
  - `data` VisitorStatisticsResponse, required: Counts over the visitor stream. `companies` counts UNIQUE BY IP and `contacts` does not, so the two series are not comparable row for row - charting them on one axis as if they were overstates or understates one of them depending on traffic shape.
    - `series` object[]
    - `total` integer, nullable
  - `pagination` PaginationMeta
    - `page` integer, required: Current page number (1-indexed)
    - `limit` integer, required: Items per page
    - `total` integer, required: Total number of items
    - `has_next` boolean, required: Whether there are more pages
    - `next_cursor` string, nullable: Opaque cursor for the next page; null when there are no more items. Pass it back as the `cursor` query param to fetch the following page without computing page numbers.
    - `total_available` integer, nullable: Search endpoints only: how many records really match, when known. Can be larger than `total`, which is capped at the 10,000 results that can be paged. For company search this is a distinct-company estimate. Null when unknown; absent outside search.
    - `total_is_lower_bound` boolean, nullable: Search endpoints only: true when more records match than `total` shows (the result set is larger than the 10,000 results that can be paged). Absent outside search.
    - `notes` string[], nullable: Search endpoints only: plain-language notes about the result, e.g. that more records match than can be paged, or that a reversed `between` range was put in order.
