# Create Sequence

`POST /sequences`

Create a new sequence with optional steps and channels.

## Headers

## Request body

- SequenceCreateRequest
  - `name` string, required: Sequence name
  - `description` string, nullable: Sequence description
  - `user_email` string, nullable: Owner email address. Omit it to make the person who minted this API key the owner (org keys that record no creator must still send it).
  - `finish_on_reply` boolean: Stop contacting on reply
  - `send_in_same_thread` boolean: Send follow-ups in same email thread
  - `wait_for_new_contacts` boolean: Keep sequence waiting for new contacts
  - `associated_list_id` integer, nullable: Contact list to associate
  - `steps` StepConfig[], nullable: Sequence steps to create
    - `step_order` integer, required: Order of the step in the sequence (1-based)
    - `step_type` string, required: Step type. One of: EMAIL, PHONE, SMS, WHATSAPP, HEYREACH, MANUAL_DIALER. Note: LinkedIn outreach uses HEYREACH (not LINKEDIN). Case-insensitive aliases accepted.
    - `input_type` string: Input type. One of: ON_DEMAND, MANUAL_TEMPLATE, AI_GENERATED_TEMPLATE. Case-insensitive aliases accepted (e.g. 'template' -> MANUAL_TEMPLATE, 'ai' -> AI_GENERATED_TEMPLATE).
    - `time_interval` integer: Delay in seconds after the previous step
    - `step_data` object, nullable: Step template/content data (subject, body, instructions, etc.)
  - `channels` ChannelConfig[], nullable: Channels to attach
    - `channel_id` integer, required: Channel resource ID (mailbox ID, phone ID, etc.)
    - `channel_value` string, required: Channel value (email address, phone number, etc.)
    - `channel_type` string, required: Channel type. One of: SMTP, GMAIL, INBOXKIT, PHONE, LINKEDIN, SMS, WHATSAPP. Case-insensitive.
    - `channel_data` object, nullable: Extra channel metadata
  - `campaign_id` string, nullable: AI Studio campaign to link
  - `sequence_kind` string, nullable: Sequence kind: 'cold_outbound' (default) or 'nurture'. Immutable after creation. 'nurture' requires pinned_mailbox_id and is gated by the ENABLE_NURTURE feature flag.
  - `pinned_mailbox_id` integer, nullable: Mailbox ID to pin for a nurture sequence. Required when sequence_kind='nurture'; all email channels must use this mailbox. Ignored for cold_outbound sequences.

    - `total_available` integer, nullable: Search endpoints only: how many records really match, when known. Can be larger than `total`, which is capped at the 10,000 results that can be paged. For company search this is a distinct-company estimate. Null when unknown; absent outside search.
    - `total_is_lower_bound` boolean, nullable: Search endpoints only: true when more records match than `total` shows (the result set is larger than the 10,000 results that can be paged). Absent outside search.
    - `notes` string[], nullable: Search endpoints only: plain-language notes about the result, e.g. that more records match than can be paged, or that a reversed `between` range was put in order.
