# Opensearch Count

`POST /opensearch/count`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://be.graph8.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://be.graph8.com/api/v1/opensearch/count`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Exact match count for one of the whitelisted mashup indices.

Same ``index`` + ``filters`` shape as ``/opensearch/search`` but returns
only the count via the native OpenSearch ``_count`` API, so it is NOT
capped at the 10000 ``track_total_hits`` ceiling that ``/search``'s
``total`` saturates at. This is the right call for TAM cell-sizing.

Note: ``mashup_companies`` and ``mashup_contacts`` are the same physical,
contact-grained index — a count over ``mashup_companies`` counts contact
rows, not unique companies. For a unique-company total use
``/opensearch/aggregate`` with ``uniqExact`` on ``COMPANY_ID``. Mashup
counts automatically apply the organization's deliverability policy.

## Headers

- `Authorization` string, nullable
- `X-Target-Org-Id` string, nullable

## Request body

- OpenSearchCountRequest: Exact-count request. Same ``index`` + ``filters`` shape as search; the page-oriented fields (fields/sort/limit/cursor) are intentionally absent because a count returns no rows.
  - `index` 'mashup_contacts' | 'mashup_companies' | 'hem2contact' | 'ip2company', required: Logical index to count. Maps to a whitelisted physical alias.
  - `filters` object: Field equality filters, identical semantics to /opensearch/search. Scalar -> term, list -> terms (OR). RAW UPPERCASE field names (e.g. COMPANY_INDUSTRY, COMPANY_NAICS, COMPANY_COUNTRY).

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- ApiResponseOpenSearchCountResponse
  - `data` OpenSearchCountResponse, required
    - `index` string, required
    - `count` integer
  - `pagination` PaginationMeta
    - `page` integer, required: Current page number (1-indexed)
    - `limit` integer, required: Items per page
    - `total` integer, required: Total number of items
    - `has_next` boolean, required: Whether there are more pages
    - `next_cursor` string, nullable: Opaque cursor for the next page; null when there are no more items. Pass it back as the `cursor` query param to fetch the following page without computing page numbers.
    - `total_available` integer, nullable: Search endpoints only: how many records really match, when known. Can be larger than `total`, which is capped at the 10,000 results that can be paged. For company search this is a distinct-company estimate. Null when unknown; absent outside search.
    - `total_is_lower_bound` boolean, nullable: Search endpoints only: true when more records match than `total` shows (the result set is larger than the 10,000 results that can be paged). Absent outside search.
    - `notes` string[], nullable: Search endpoints only: plain-language notes about the result, e.g. that more records match than can be paged, or that a reversed `between` range was put in order.
