# Search Inbox Emails

`POST /inbox/emails/search`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://be.graph8.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://be.graph8.com/api/v1/inbox/emails/search`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Search email threads across one or more mailboxes.

`mailboxes` is REQUIRED and an empty list is not "all mailboxes" - the
inbox is per-mailbox, so an empty list is simply no result. Paging is on
the query string, matching the app, because the body is the filter.

## Query parameters

- `page` integer
- `page_size` integer

## Headers

- `Authorization` string, nullable
- `X-Target-Org-Id` string, nullable

## Request body

- EmailSearchRequest: Filter and page email threads across one or more mailboxes.
  - `mailboxes` string[], required: Mailbox addresses to search. REQUIRED: the inbox is per-mailbox, and an empty list is not 'all mailboxes', it is no result.
  - `campaign_ids` string[], nullable
  - `tag_ids` string[], nullable
  - `exclude_tag_ids` string[], nullable
  - `search` string, nullable
  - `search_emails` string[], nullable: Return threads touching ANY of these addresses, in the thread owner or in a message's from/to. OR-matched - a scope filter, not a full-text search.
  - `status` 'SENT' | 'AI_RESPONDED' | 'DRAFT', nullable: Keep threads in one delivery state. Closed to the three the internal `EmailStatus` enum accepts - an open string here reaches a strict enum inside the handler and raises a bare `pydantic.ValidationError`, which no handler catches, so it escapes as a 500 instead of a 422.
  - `updated_after` string, date-time, nullable
  - `updated_before` string, date-time, nullable
  - `sort_order` 'asc' | 'desc'
  - `sort_by` 'updated_at' | 'created_at' | 'last_message_at'
  - `assigned_to_user_email` string, nullable: Only threads assigned to this user.

Successful Response

- ApiResponseInboxPage
  - `data` InboxPage, required: A page of threads, or one thread, exactly as the inbox returns it.
    - `items` object[]
    - `total` integer
  - `pagination` PaginationMeta
    - `page` integer, required: Current page number (1-indexed)
    - `limit` integer, required: Items per page
    - `total` integer, required: Total number of items
    - `has_next` boolean, required: Whether there are more pages
    - `next_cursor` string, nullable: Opaque cursor for the next page; null when there are no more items. Pass it back as the `cursor` query param to fetch the following page without computing page numbers.
    - `total_available` integer, nullable: Search endpoints only: how many records really match, when known. Can be larger than `total`, which is capped at the 10,000 results that can be paged. For company search this is a distinct-company estimate. Null when unknown; absent outside search.
    - `total_is_lower_bound` boolean, nullable: Search endpoints only: true when more records match than `total` shows (the result set is larger than the 10,000 results that can be paged). Absent outside search.
    - `notes` string[], nullable: Search endpoints only: plain-language notes about the result, e.g. that more records match than can be paged, or that a reversed `between` range was put in order.
