# Create Agent Run

`POST /agent/runs`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://be.graph8.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://be.graph8.com/api/v1/agent/runs`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Start a durable agent run.

"Run" is the public noun; the stored row is a work item and every internal
name says so. The same translation `app_pages_router` makes for dashboards,
and for the same reason: the public contract should read the way a builder
thinks, not the way the table is named.

`workflow_started: false` is a NORMAL outcome, not an error. The row is
persisted either way; a false means the Temporal worker did not pick it up
on this attempt and the reason is carried alongside it.

## Headers

- `Authorization` string, nullable
- `X-Target-Org-Id` string, nullable

## Request body

- CreateAgentRunRequest: Start a durable agent run. See the module docstring for what is omitted.
  - `agent_id` string, required: Which agent drives the loop: 'onboarding', 'dialer_setup', 'sequencer_setup', 'campaign_run', 'voice_setup', 'marketplace', 'dev_setup', or a free-form value for an ad-hoc session.
  - `title` string, required
  - `goal` string, required: Free text the planner works from.
  - `entry_point` string, nullable
  - `visibility` string: 'private' (default) keeps the run yours. 'shared' lets the organization see it, though only you can cancel it.
  - `subject_account_id` string, nullable: Bind the run to a company.
  - `subject_campaign_id` string, nullable: Bind the run to a campaign.
  - `session_title` string, nullable
  - `seed_message` string, nullable: An opening user turn, rendered as the first message.
  - `skill_mode` string, nullable: 'web_search' | 'deep_thinking' | 'research'. Unknown values are ignored.

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- ApiResponseCreatedAgentRunResponse
  - `data` CreatedAgentRunResponse, required
    - `work_item_id` string, required
    - `session_id` string, required
    - `workflow_started` boolean, required: False is NORMAL, not an error: the run is stored either way and no worker picked it up on this attempt. Poll the run rather than retrying the create, which would start a second one.
    - `workflow_started_reason` string, nullable
  - `pagination` PaginationMeta
    - `page` integer, required: Current page number (1-indexed)
    - `limit` integer, required: Items per page
    - `total` integer, required: Total number of items
    - `has_next` boolean, required: Whether there are more pages
    - `next_cursor` string, nullable: Opaque cursor for the next page; null when there are no more items. Pass it back as the `cursor` query param to fetch the following page without computing page numbers.
    - `total_available` integer, nullable: Search endpoints only: how many records really match, when known. Can be larger than `total`, which is capped at the 10,000 results that can be paged. For company search this is a distinct-company estimate. Null when unknown; absent outside search.
    - `total_is_lower_bound` boolean, nullable: Search endpoints only: true when more records match than `total` shows (the result set is larger than the 10,000 results that can be paged). Absent outside search.
    - `notes` string[], nullable: Search endpoints only: plain-language notes about the result, e.g. that more records match than can be paged, or that a reversed `between` range was put in order.
