# Manually force license refresh.

`POST /licensing/token/renew`

## Request

- Base URL: `/api` (relative, and the document’s source URL is not known)
- URL: `/api/licensing/token/renew`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Manually ask license issuer for a new token. Available in Grafana Enterprise v7.4+.

You need to have a permission with action `licensing:write`.

- `401`: UnauthorizedError is returned when the request is not authenticated.
- `404`: NotFoundError is returned when the requested resource was not found.
