# Take a delayed payment

`POST /v1/payments/{paymentId}/capture`

## Request

You can use this endpoint to [take (‘capture’) a delayed payment from the paying user’s bank account](https://docs.payments.service.gov.uk/delayed_capture/).

- `400`: Capture of payment failed

- `404`: Not found
- `409`: Conflict
- `429`: Too many requests
- `500`: Downstream system error
