# Installed and latest version of the provider's harness CLI in your persistent workspace, and whether an update is available.

`GET /settings/ai-providers/{provider_id}/harness-update`

## Response `200`

Harness version status

- HarnessUpdateStatus: Installed and latest version of a provider's harness CLI inside the caller's persistent workspace. A harness that is behind the latest release cannot offer models released after it, so the console shows this and lets the operator update it.
  - `checked_at` string, nullable: When the versions were last read from the workspace (RFC 3339).
  - `detail` string, nullable: Why the versions could not be determined, when they could not.
  - `installed_version` string, nullable: Version reported by the CLI in the workspace, when it could be read.
  - `latest_version` string, nullable: Latest version published for the CLI, when it could be looked up.
  - `provider_id` string, required
  - `update_available` boolean, required: True only when both versions are known and `latest_version` is newer.
  - `updating` boolean, required: An update is running right now.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Insufficient permissions
- `404`: Unknown provider
- `503`: The workspace could not be inspected
