# Get a currency

`GET /currencies/{code}`

## Request

## Query parameters

- `fields` object
  - `currencies` string

## Headers

- `If-None-Match` string

## Response `200`

The item.

- Currency: An ISO 4217 currency. Every field is present unless `fields[currencies]` asks for fewer.
  - `code` string, required
  - `minor_unit` integer: Digits after the decimal point: an amount in minor units is the amount times 10 to this power.
  - `name` string
  - `symbol` string: The English symbol (Unicode CLDR); the code when there is none.

## Other responses

- `304`: Not changed since the ETag in `If-None-Match`; no body.
- `400`: A parameter is wrong, unknown or out of range.
- `401`: No token, or the token is wrong, expired or revoked.
- `404`: No such item, or not one this token may see.
- `429`: Over the rate limit; wait `Retry-After` seconds.
- `500`: Something failed on the server.
