# PATCH /v3/projects/{projectsId}

`PATCH /v3/projects/{projectsId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://cloudresourcemanager.googleapis.com`
- URL: `https://cloudresourcemanager.googleapis.com/v3/projects/{projectsId}`
- Auth: OAuth 2 and OAuth 2
  - Implicit: `https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/auth`
  - Scopes: `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform`
  - Authorization code: `https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/auth`
  - Token URL: `https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/token` scopes: `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform`

Updates the `display_name` and labels of the project identified by the specified `name` (for example, `projects/415104041262`). Deleting all labels requires an update mask for labels field. The caller must have `resourcemanager.projects.update` permission for this project.

## Path parameters

- `projectsId` string, required

## Query parameters

- `updateMask` string, google-fieldmask

## Request body

- Project: A project is a high-level Google Cloud entity. It is a container for ACLs, APIs, App Engine Apps, VMs, and other Google Cloud Platform resources.
  - `configuredCapabilities` string[]: Output only. If this project is a Management Project, list of capabilities configured on the parent folder. Note, presence of any capability implies that this is a Management Project. Example: `folders/123/capabilities/app-management`. OUTPUT ONLY.
  - `createTime` string, google-datetime: Output only. Creation time.
  - `deleteTime` string, google-datetime: Output only. The time at which this resource was requested for deletion.
  - `displayName` string: Optional. A user-assigned display name of the project. When present it must be between 4 to 30 characters. Allowed characters are: lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, hyphen, single-quote, double-quote, space, and exclamation point. Example: `My Project`
  - `etag` string: Output only. A checksum computed by the server based on the current value of the Project resource. This may be sent on update and delete requests to ensure the client has an up-to-date value before proceeding.
  - `isManagementProject` boolean: Output only. If `true`, this project is a Management Project. A Management Project manages dedicated project groups for specific purposes (e.g., agent management or app management).
  - `labels` object: Optional. The labels associated with this project. Label keys must be between 1 and 63 characters long and must conform to the following regular expression: \[a-z\](\[-a-z0-9\]*\[a-z0-9\])?. Label values must be between 0 and 63 characters long and must conform to the regular expression (\[a-z\](\[-a-z0-9\]*\[a-z0-9\])?)?. No more than 64 labels can be associated with a given resource. Clients should store labels in a representation such as JSON that does not depend on specific characters being disallowed. Example: `"myBusinessDimension" : "businessValue"`
  - `managementType` 'MANAGEMENT_TYPE_UNSPECIFIED' | 'SELF_MANAGED' | 'HUB': Output only. The type of Management Project. This field is only populated if `is_management_project` is `true`.
  - `name` string: Output only. The unique resource name of the project. It is an int64 generated number prefixed by "projects/". Example: `projects/415104041262`
  - `parent` string: Optional. A reference to a parent Resource. eg., `organizations/123` or `folders/876`.
  - `projectId` string: Immutable. The unique, user-assigned id of the project. It must be 6 to 30 lowercase ASCII letters, digits, or hyphens. It must start with a letter. Trailing hyphens are prohibited. Example: `tokyo-rain-123`
  - `state` 'STATE_UNSPECIFIED' | 'ACTIVE' | 'DELETE_REQUESTED': Output only. The project lifecycle state.
  - `tags` object: Optional. Input only. Immutable. Tag keys/values directly bound to this project. Each item in the map must be expressed as " : ". For example: "123/environment" : "production", "123/costCenter" : "marketing" Note: Currently this field is in Preview.
  - `updateTime` string, google-datetime: Output only. The most recent time this resource was modified.

## Response `200`

Successful response

- Operation: This resource represents a long-running operation that is the result of a network API call.
  - `done` boolean: If the value is `false`, it means the operation is still in progress. If `true`, the operation is completed, and either `error` or `response` is available.
  - `error` Status: The `Status` type defines a logical error model that is suitable for different programming environments, including REST APIs and RPC APIs. It is used by [gRPC](https://github.com/grpc). Each `Status` message contains three pieces of data: error code, error message, and error details. You can find out more about this error model and how to work with it in the [API Design Guide](https://cloud.google.com/apis/design/errors).
    - `code` integer: The status code, which should be an enum value of google.rpc.Code.
    - `details` object[]: A list of messages that carry the error details. There is a common set of message types for APIs to use.
    - `message` string: A developer-facing error message, which should be in English. Any user-facing error message should be localized and sent in the google.rpc.Status.details field, or localized by the client.
  - `metadata` object: Service-specific metadata associated with the operation. It typically contains progress information and common metadata such as create time. Some services might not provide such metadata. Any method that returns a long-running operation should document the metadata type, if any.
  - `name` string: The server-assigned name, which is only unique within the same service that originally returns it. If you use the default HTTP mapping, the `name` should be a resource name ending with `operations/{unique_id}`.
  - `response` object: The normal, successful response of the operation. If the original method returns no data on success, such as `Delete`, the response is `google.protobuf.Empty`. If the original method is standard `Get`/`Create`/`Update`, the response should be the resource. For other methods, the response should have the type `XxxResponse`, where `Xxx` is the original method name. For example, if the original method name is `TakeSnapshot()`, the inferred response type is `TakeSnapshotResponse`.
