# Archive Template Route

`POST /templates/{template_identifier}/archive`

Archive a template owned by the caller.

Body is optional (``{archive_reason}``). Archiving keeps the slug
occupied and hides the template from public listing. Forks pinned at
this template keep working.

## Path parameters

- `template_identifier` string, required

## Request body

- ArchiveTemplateInput: Optional body for ``POST /v1/templates/{template_identifier}/archive``. ``archive_reason`` is a short human-readable note stored on ``templates.archive_reason``. Empty body is accepted (FastAPI passes ``None`` to the route, which then constructs a default).
  - `archive_reason` string, nullable
