# Guest review summary and recent reviews for a single hotel

`GET /v1/hotel_reviews/{hotel_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.gojinko.com`
- URL: `https://api.gojinko.com/v1/hotel_reviews/{hotel_id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Use after hotel_search or hotel_details, when the user wants to know what guests say about a hotel or how it scores on cleanliness, location or staff. Returns the overall guest score and review count, a summary of what guests praise and criticise, a score per category, and a page of recent reviews, newest first: headline, score, pros/cons, date and language for each. The review source is not attributed.

## Path parameters

- `hotel_id` string, required: The `hotel_id` of a hotel from hotel_search, or the `id` hotel_details returns, passed exactly as received and URL-encoded as one path segment. It is opaque: do not parse or build it.

## Query parameters

- `limit` integer: Reviews per page, 1 to 50. Default 10.
- `offset` integer, nullable: Reviews to skip before this page. Default 0.

Hotel reviews

- HotelReviewsResponse
  - `hotel` object, required: The hotel the reviews are about.
    - `id` string, required: Opaque hotel identifier, the value hotel_search returns as `hotel_id` and hotel_details as `id`. Pass it back exactly as received; do not parse or build it.
    - `hotel_ref` string: Deprecated: use `hotel_id` (search) or `id` (details, reviews). The hotel's identifier behind a source prefix, as earlier contract versions returned it; hotel_details and hotel_reviews still accept it. Pass it back exactly as received; do not parse or build it.
    - `name` string: Hotel name.
    - `rating` number: Guest score out of 10.
    - `review_count` integer: Number of guest reviews behind `rating`.
  - `summary` object, nullable, required: Summary of what guests say. Null when the hotel has no review summary.
    - `pros` string[], required: What guests praise, as short phrases.
    - `cons` string[], required: What guests criticise, as short phrases.
    - `categories` object[], required: Score per category, such as cleanliness, location or staff.
      - `name` string: Category name.
      - `rating` number: Category score out of 10.
      - `description` string: What guests say about this category.
    - `updated_at` string: When the summary was last updated (RFC 3339). Absent when unknown.
  - `reviews` object[], required: One page of individual reviews, newest first. Empty when the hotel has no reviews or the page starts past the last one.
    - `id` string: Review id.
    - `headline` string: Review title.
    - `score` number: This reviewer's score out of 10.
    - `pros` string: What this reviewer liked, as they wrote it.
    - `cons` string: What this reviewer disliked, as they wrote it.
    - `date` string: Review date, `YYYY-MM-DD`. Absent when unknown.
    - `language` string: Language code of the review.
    - `reviewer_name` string: The reviewer's display name.
  - `page` object, required: Where this page sits among the hotel's reviews.
    - `limit` integer, required: Reviews requested per page.
    - `offset` integer, required: Reviews skipped before this page.
    - `total_count` integer, nullable, required: Total reviews available for this hotel, when known.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Authentication required
- `402`: Payment required — organization balance exhausted
- `404`: Resource not found
- `409`: The operation conflicts with the current state of the resource
- `410`: The resource this request names no longer exists
- `422`: Validation error
- `429`: Rate limit or quota exceeded
- `502`: The travel provider rejected the request, or an upstream call failed
- `503`: No travel provider can serve the request right now
- `504`: The travel provider did not answer in time
