# List received SMS messages

`GET /v1/sms/messages`

## Request

Lists SMS messages received on one of your organization's numbers, oldest first.

Results are paginated. If `next_url` is non-null, send a GET request to it (with the same credentials) to fetch the
next page. When `next_url` is null, you've reached the most recent message.

## Query parameters

- `to_number` string, required: Your organization's number to list received messages for, in E.164 format.
- `received_after` string, date-time, nullable: Only return messages received strictly after this time, as an ISO 8601 timestamp. Timestamps without an offset are treated as UTC. Defaults to returning all messages.
- `from_number` string, nullable: Only return messages from this sender, in E.164 format.
- `limit` integer: Maximum number of messages per page.

  - `results` SMSMessage[], required: Results on this page.
    - `id` string, required: Unique ID of the message.
    - `from_number` string, required: Sender, in E.164 format.
    - `to_number` string, required: Your organization's number that received the message, in E.164 format.
    - `content` string, required: Message body.
    - `received_at` string, date-time, required: When Guava received the message, in UTC.
    - `direction` string, required: Always `inbound`.
  - `next_url` string, nullable: URL of the next page of results, or null if this is the last page. Send a GET request to it as-is.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: Your account has an unresolved billing issue.
- `404`: `to_number` isn't owned by your organization.
- `422`: Validation Error
