# Create a new organization with you as admin ({name} in body); prepaid at a zero balance, your active org unchanged \[org:write; a person, not a service token\]

`POST /preview/orgs`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://autoresearch.sfcompute.com`
- URL: `https://autoresearch.sfcompute.com/preview/orgs`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Create a team: a new organization with you as its admin, for work with other people (any person; not a service token). Your personal organization is the one made at signup, for you alone. Invite people to the team with invite_member(email, org). A team has its own members, workspaces and balance: prepaid, starting at zero, with no free credit and no card. buy_credits(org, amount_usd) answers with a payment link for its first credit, and the answer's fund_url is the same payment on the web. That payment saves a card; after it, buy_credits(org) charges the card and set_auto_topup(org) works. Your active organization does not change. The tools that take org (billing, members, workspaces, caps: invite_member(org), create_workspace(org)) act in it when you pass it. Nodes, jobs and sandboxes go where this connection acts: to start them in the new organization, call switch_active_org on a connection not opened in a specific organization, or connect again and choose it. Refused while you are admin of 10 or more organizations.

## Query parameters

- `workspace` string

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string, required: The new team's name: 1-80 characters, not one of the organizations you already belong to (other org tools take it as the `org` selector).

## Response `200`

The capability's JSON result.

- Result: The capability's result: the same object the MCP tool returns as structuredContent. Resources carry an `object` type discriminator and an immutable id; money is integer micro-dollars in `*_usd_micros` fields.
  - `object` string: The resource type, when the result is one resource.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed request: bad JSON, a parameter that does not parse, or a value outside its range. Code `invalid`.
- `401`: No bearer token, or one this API cannot verify. Code `unauthenticated`.
- `403`: Authenticated, but the token's scopes or the account's role do not reach this operation. The message names the scope word to request. Code `forbidden`.
- `404`: No such route. Code `not_found`; the body names the OpenAPI document.
- `422`: A well-formed request the platform declined: no such node, a cap reached, a state that forbids the move. The message says which, and what to do instead. Code `refused`.
- `429`: Over this door's per-customer budget. Wait `Retry-After` seconds. Code `rate_limited`.
- `500`: Our fault. Retry; if it persists, quote the request-id. Code `internal`.
