# Remove an owner from an identity

`DELETE /v1/nhi/identities/{identity_id}/owners/{owner_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.gitguardian.com`
- URL: `https://api.gitguardian.com/v1/nhi/identities/{identity_id}/owners/{owner_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Remove an owner from a non-human identity. The removed owner is no longer
listed, and GitGuardian does not suggest it again for this identity.

The API token must have the Manager access level or above, or be a service account token.

## Path parameters

- `identity_id` integer, required
- `owner_id` integer, required

## Response `204`

Owner was removed.

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid API key
- `403`: Permission denied
- `404`: Identity or owner not found
- `503`: API under maintenance
