# List a video's caption languages

`GET /transcript/languages`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://getyoutubetranscript.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://getyoutubetranscript.com/api/v1/transcript/languages`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `x-api-key`

The caption languages a video offers, creator-uploaded ('manual') and YouTube speech recognition ('auto'), so you can pick one before calling /transcript. One entry per language and caption type. default_language_code is what /transcript returns when no language is given. A video with captions turned off returns an empty list. Costs 1 credit per successful call, like /transcript.

- `v` string, required

## Response `200`

Available caption languages.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - missing or invalid parameters.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `402`: Out of credits.
- `404`: Video unavailable, private, or removed.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded for the key's plan tier (60/200/300 requests per minute on free/monthly/annual).
