# Update a project note

`PUT /projects/{project_id}/notes/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app2.gettruss.io/api/v1`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Changes the note's body, its task link, or both, and records the current user as last_edited_by. Anyone on the firm can edit any note; every change is recorded in its history.

## Request body

- object
  - `comment_content` string: Rich-text body. HTML is accepted and sanitized.
  - `task_id` integer, nullable: A task on this project to link the note to; null or empty unlinks it

    - `created_by_id` integer, nullable: ID of the user who wrote the note
    - `last_edited_by_id` integer: ID of the user who last edited the note
    - `deleted_task_name` string, nullable: Name of the task this note was linked to, after that task was deleted
    - `comment_content` string: Rich-text body rendered as sanitized HTML
    - `comment_content_as_string` string: Plain-text version of the body, suitable for non-HTML clients
    - `created_at` string, date-time
    - `updated_at` string, date-time

- `422`: validation failed
