# Validate external storage

`POST /imports/v2/external-storage/validate`

Validates the configured external storage. For AWS S3, performs a live STS AssumeRole and S3 ListObjectsV2 check. For GCS, performs a live bucket listing check using the configured service-account credentials.

## Response `201`

Response

- ValidateExternalStorageResponse, nullable — Basic response information
  - `duration` string, required — Duration of the request in milliseconds

- `429` — Too many requests
