# List event types

`GET /v1/event-types`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.getsitecontrol.com`
- URL: `https://api.getsitecontrol.com/v1/event-types`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Events a site can be subscribed to: for each, what triggers it, the JSON Schema of its default payload and of the template context, and an example payload. Call it before creating an event subscription: its `events` take the `type` values listed here, and its body and URL templates may use the roots of `context_schema`. The list is the same for every site and account.

- EventTypeList
  - `items` EventType[], required
    - `type` string, required: Event type, e.g. response.created; the value for `events`
    - `sections` string[], required: Sections whose data the payload carries: widgets, contacts. Reading an event subscription with this event needs view access to each, creating or changing it edit access
    - `description` string, required: What triggers the event
    - `payload_schema` object, required: JSON Schema of the default payload
    - `context_schema` object, required: JSON Schema of the roots a template may use
    - `example` object, required: A default payload built on made-up data

## Other responses

- `400`: Unsupported GSC-Version
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key or access token
- `403`: Access denied
- `404`: Not found
- `422`: Validation failed
- `429`: Rate limited
- `503`: Temporarily unavailable; retry later
