# Read website text

`POST /api/agents/website-text`

The team's site as text, to read yourself and write the cards from: the home page and up to four pages that say what the company is, each with url, title and text (6,000 characters a page, 16,000 in all), the home page's language, truncated when cut. No model runs, nothing is spent; the Brief's draft is read_agent_website. 422 website_invalid, or website_unreadable (under 200 characters of text, an error page, no answer).

Contract:
- MCP tool `read_website_text`, registry package `mcp.unibox/agents`, mount `unibox.website`.
- Operation `action`, response envelope `action`.
- Flags: read only.

## Request body

- ReadWebsiteTextRequest: Request body of `read_website_text`.
  - `url` string, required: The team's website, with or without https:// (the probe's final_url when it answered).
  - `max_pages` integer: How many pages at most, the home page counted; default 5.

    - `duration_ms` integer, required: Server-side wall clock.
    - `team_sid` string, nullable: The team this call ran in (the token team, or the team_sid override). Null when unauthenticated; absent from pre-2026-08-20 backends.
    - `actor_type` string, nullable: user | agent | api_key | system. Null when unauthenticated; absent from pre-2026-08-20 backends.

## Other responses

- `4XX`: MCP error envelope. `error.code` is one of validation_failed, nothing_to_update, not_found, relation_not_found, invalid_transition, limit_exceeded, payment_required, duplicate_rejected, conflict, delete_blocked, unauthorized, forbidden, rate_limited, not_implemented.
- `5XX`: MCP error envelope with `error.code` internal_error or service_unavailable.
