# Delete playtable field

`DELETE /api/playtable-fields/{sid}`

## Request

Cascade soft-delete of a column. DESTRUCTIVE: cell values are hard-purged (recovery_available_until is always null; spend receipts survive in the credit ledger); re-creating a field with the same slug re-binds existing {{record.<slug>}} references. On 409 delete_blocked: hard blocker = an active workflow version references the slug (pause or edit it first); soft = dependent fields (orphan_dependents) and queued/running cells (cancel_pending_cells). Check include=dependents first.

Contract:
- MCP tool `delete_playtable_field`, registry package `mcp.playtables/playtable_fields`, mount `playtables.columns`.
- Operation `delete`, response envelope `delete_cascade`.
- Flags: dangerous: the MCP layer gates it behind a preview/commit token, and the effect cannot be undone through this API.

## Path parameters

- `sid` string, required: The pt_fd_* sid of the row to delete.

## Query parameters

- `acknowledge[]` string[]: Soft-blocker resolution codes the user confirmed. orphan_dependents: dependents keep their source text, their next recalc/run errors until edited. cancel_pending_cells: queued cancelled unbilled; running finish, write discarded.

    - `actor_type` string, nullable: user | agent | api_key | system. Null when unauthenticated; absent from pre-2026-08-20 backends.

## Other responses

- `4XX`: MCP error envelope. `error.code` is one of validation_failed, nothing_to_update, not_found, relation_not_found, invalid_transition, limit_exceeded, payment_required, duplicate_rejected, conflict, delete_blocked, unauthorized, forbidden, rate_limited, not_implemented.
- `5XX`: MCP error envelope with `error.code` internal_error or service_unavailable.
