# Act on activity

`POST /api/activities/{sid}/act`

## Request

Act by hand on a feed event: like or comment on a post event, or send_message to the person of any event. Bears a user task that goes scheduled now through the sender profile's scheduler and limits, posting on LinkedIn as the sender profile: confirm the words and the sender with the user first. A repeat answers the existing task (already_acting). A failed act waits under its event (retry or cancel the task). The words a play would write: draft_for_activity.

- MCP tool `act_on_activity`, registry package `mcp.playtables/activities`, mount `playtables.journeys`.
- Operation `action`, response envelope `action`.
- Flags: none.

## Path parameters

- `sid` string, required: The event (cr_ac_…).

## Request body

- ActOnActivityRequest: Request body of `act_on_activity`.
  - `do` 'like' | 'comment' | 'send_message', required: like or comment: on a post event only (linkedin_post_published), at that post; send_message: a LinkedIn message to the person of any event.
  - `sender_profile_sid` string, nullable: Who acts; absent = the one a play would pick (play_acts.acts_as of the row).
  - `text` string, nullable: The words of a comment (1250 at most) or a message (8000 at most); required for those two.
  - `reaction` 'like' | 'celebrate' | 'support' | 'love' | 'insightful' | 'funny', nullable: A Like's kind, one of the network's six; like when absent.

    - `span_id` string, required: 16 hex chars, root span of this request.
    - `timestamp` string, required: ISO 8601 UTC (Y-m-dTH:i:sZ), response time.
    - `duration_ms` integer, required: Server-side wall clock.
    - `team_sid` string, nullable: The team this call ran in (the token team, or the team_sid override). Null when unauthenticated; absent from pre-2026-08-20 backends.
    - `actor_type` string, nullable: user | agent | api_key | system. Null when unauthenticated; absent from pre-2026-08-20 backends.

## Other responses

- `4XX`: MCP error envelope. `error.code` is one of validation_failed, nothing_to_update, not_found, relation_not_found, invalid_transition, limit_exceeded, payment_required, duplicate_rejected, conflict, delete_blocked, unauthorized, forbidden, rate_limited, not_implemented.
- `5XX`: MCP error envelope with `error.code` internal_error or service_unavailable.
