# Update provider connection

`PATCH /api/provider-connections/{sid}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://beta.getsales.io/integrations/v1`
- URL: `https://beta.getsales.io/integrations/v1/api/provider-connections/{sid}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer and API key in header `Team-SID`

Rename, pause or resume (status on | off), or rotate the secret: auth_type and auth together replace it in place, same sid, so the tools naming it keep working, and the failure counter resets. Reviving a failed connection (status on) resets it too. A HubSpot grant is not rotatable here (422 oauth_grant_not_client_rotatable: reconnect through the OAuth pair); provider is immutable. At least one field, else 422 nothing_to_update.

Contract:
- MCP tool `update_provider_connection`, registry package `mcp.integrations/provider_connections`, mount `integrations.providers`.
- Operation `update`, response envelope `update`.
- Flags: none.

## Path parameters

- `sid` string, required: Provider connection sid (in_cn_...).

## Request body

- UpdateProviderConnectionRequest: Request body of `update_provider_connection`.
  - `name` string: New name, 1..255 chars.
  - `status` 'on' | 'off': on | off; failed is never client-settable.
  - `auth_type` 'api_key' | 'bearer' | 'basic' | 'header' | 'query', nullable: With auth: the new secret's shape (the pair rotates together).
  - `auth` object: WRITE-ONLY, never echoed: {key} for api_key or bearer, {username, password} for basic, {header_name, value} for header, {param_name, value} for query.

## Response `200`

`update` success envelope.
