# Give one field of the imported record its own column

`POST /tables/{table_id}/source/promote-field/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.getoneprofile.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.getoneprofile.ai/tables/{table_id}/source/promote-field/`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Creates a formula column that reads the path out of the imported-record column, and backfills it.

A formula rather than a copy, deliberately: it tracks the record through every refresh, where copied values would go stale the first time the record changed.

## Path parameters

- `table_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- PromoteSourceFieldRequestSchema: Which field to give its own column.
  - `display_name` string, nullable: Column name.
  - `path` string, required: Dotted path into the object.
  - `property_type` 'string' | 'integer' | 'float' | 'boolean' | 'datetime' | 'date' | 'list' | 'dict': Type of a property. Used while creating/updating/deleting properties.

## Response `201`
