# Suggest a name for a new column

`GET /tables/{table_id}/columns/suggest-name/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.getoneprofile.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.getoneprofile.ai/tables/{table_id}/columns/suggest-name/`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Suggest a free display name for a column from a base name: the base name itself when no column on the table already has it, or the first free "<base> (n)" variant, counting from 2. Free and changes nothing, the same name a column created right after would take.

## Path parameters

- `table_id` string, uuid, required

## Query parameters

- `base` string, required: The name to make unique.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- TableColumnNameSuggestionResponseSchema: The name a new column would take from a base name, made unique on the table.
  - `suggested_name` string, required: The base name unchanged if free, or its first free "(n)" variant.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Table not found
- `422`: Invalid request made to the API.
- `500`: Internal server error.
- `502`: Bad gateway error.
- `503`: Service unavailable.
