# Send this step as a real test email

`POST /sequences/{sequence_id}/steps/{step_id}/test-send/`

## Request

Real mailbox, real signature, variables resolved; free of credits and analytics. A LinkedIn step arrives as an email with its exact text and no signature.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not found.
- `409`: The audience is not configured yet, or the real send would skip this contact (a missing column, or an agent-written body left empty), or hold the agent's words for a person (a defect such as stray formatting).
- `422`: Invalid request made to the API.
- `429`: Today's free agent-written previews are spent.
- `500`: Internal server error.
- `502`: The mailbox could not send.
- `503`: The agent has not written this contact's message yet.
