# Start an AI Assistant chat conversation

`POST /assistant/chat/conversations/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.getoneprofile.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.getoneprofile.ai/assistant/chat/conversations/`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Start an empty conversation. Create it before the first message so the conversation exists for the whole of that turn; it takes its title from the first message.

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- WorkspaceChatConversationReadSchema: One conversation, as the history lists it. ``title`` and ``pinned`` come from the thread list's overlay when the conversation was renamed or pinned there, so this history and the union list on the Chat page name and order the same thread the same way.
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required
  - `id` string, uuid, required
  - `last_message_at` string, date-time, nullable, required
  - `pinned` boolean: Pinned in the thread list. Pinned conversations are listed first.
  - `title` string, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `422`: Invalid request made to the API.
- `500`: Internal server error.
- `502`: Bad gateway error.
- `503`: Service unavailable.
