# Set your first name

`POST /api/me/name`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://getmyluna.app`
- URL: `https://getmyluna.app/api/me/name`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in cookie `luna_session`

Sets the name the family sees for you (away card, timeline, partner list, connector). Refuses email addresses. `400` if empty or over 40 characters.

  - `display_name` string, required: Your first name. Not an email address.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials
- `403`: `insufficient_scope`: the bearer token lacks the `write` scope
