# Upload To Chat

`POST /api/upload_to_chat`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.getdot.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://app.getdot.ai/api/upload_to_chat`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY`
  - API key in cookie `Authorization`
  - OAuth 2 (password, token URL `/api/auth/token`)

Upload a file to a chat session for the agent to analyze.

Files are stored in data/{org_id}/sessions/{chat_id}/uploads/ and are
accessible to the sandbox at /dot/session/uploads/.

Accepts data files, text, images, PDFs, and ZIP archives.
ZIP files are automatically extracted with safety checks.

Returns:
    file_id, original_name, stored_name, size, path_in_sandbox
