# Set Auto Sample Enabled

`POST /api/set_auto_sample_enabled`

## Request

Set whether Dot automatically keeps data samples fresh in the background.

When on (default), after each connection sync Dot samples fields that have
never been sampled (highest-usage first) and refreshes samples older than a
month — no AI descriptions, just sample values.

Args:
    value: True to keep samples fresh automatically, False to disable
