# Fork Shared Chat

`POST /api/fork_shared_chat`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.getdot.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY`
  - API key in cookie `Authorization`
  - OAuth 2 (password, token URL `/api/auth/token`)

Fork a public shared chat into a new private chat owned by the current user.
Accepts an optional source_org_id to support cross-workspace forking: the shared
chat may live in a different workspace or the parent org. Only allowed when both
orgs share the same parent org (or one is the parent of the other).

- BodyForkSharedChatApiForkSharedChatPost
  - `source_chat_id` string, required
  - `source_org_id` string, nullable

## Response `200`
