# Create Workspace

`POST /api/create_workspace`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.getdot.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://app.getdot.ai/api/create_workspace`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY`
  - API key in cookie `Authorization`
  - OAuth 2 (password, token URL `/api/auth/token`)

Create a new workspace for the current organization.

Workspaces are implemented as separate organizations with IDs following the pattern:
{original_org_id}-w-{workspace_name}

The workspace organization has:
- is_workspace: true
- parent_org_id: original organization ID

Users access workspaces through their membership in the parent organization.
Only admin users can create workspaces.

## Request body

- BodyCreateWorkspaceApiCreateWorkspacePost
  - `workspace_name` string, required: Name of the workspace to create
  - `display_name` string, nullable: Optional human-friendly display name shown in the UI
  - `copy_org_data` boolean: Whether to copy organization data to workspace
  - `source_workspace_id` string, nullable: Source workspace org_id to copy data from (defaults to parent org)
  - `clone_request_id` string, nullable: Client-minted per-attempt nonce (e.g. a UUID) used to build a unique clone-progress log id; ignored when copy_org_data is false. Must match ^[A-Za-z0-9_-]{1,64}$.
