# Import Files From Chat

`POST /api/context-agent/chats/{chat_id}/import-files`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.getdot.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://app.getdot.ai/api/context-agent/chats/{chat_id}/import-files`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY`
  - API key in cookie `Authorization`
  - OAuth 2 (password, token URL `/api/auth/token`)

Copy uploads from another chat owned by the same user.

The 429 recovery flow stops the stuck chat (its lock can't be released)
and creates a fresh one. Without this endpoint the new chat's uploads
dir is empty and the resent message references files the backend can't
find. Both chats must belong to the same user; we never read across orgs.

- ImportFilesRequest: Body for copying uploads from one chat to another (429 recovery).
