# Api Transfer App Owner

`POST /api/apps/{app_id}/owner`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.getdot.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://app.getdot.ai/api/apps/{app_id}/owner`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY`
  - API key in cookie `Authorization`
  - OAuth 2 (password, token URL `/api/auth/token`)

Hand an app to a new owner — metadata-only edit of the owner meta.

Ownership now grants edit, so it needs a real door: without one, an app
whose owner has left is editable by admins alone, forever. Admins may
transfer any app; the current owner may hand off their own.

Personal apps are owned by the folder they sit in, so transferring one means
moving it — use `/move` instead of silently disagreeing with the path.
