# Delete User Widget Template

`DELETE /api/v1/dashboards/widget-templates/{template_id}`

Soft-delete a Custom template definition (PR12).

Distinct from removing a placed widget instance: this tombstones the library
definition (hides it, preserves provenance) but never touches widgets already
placed from it. Author-only unless the caller is a tenant ADMIN.
