# Poll Handoff Messages

`GET /api/v1/public/text-widget/sessions/{session_id}/messages/poll`

Poll for new messages and the session's status.

Returns messages with sequence > after_sequence, the session status and the
handoff status. The widget polls during a human handoff to pick up agent
replies, and while idle to learn the chat was closed.
