# Update Note

`PUT /api/v1/notes/{note_id}`

## Path parameters

- `note_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- CustomerNoteUpdate — Body for editing a note (full update of the editable field).
  - `body` string, required

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- CustomerNoteRead — A note as returned to the client. ``author_name`` is joined in from the ``user`` table so the UI can show who wrote it without a second lookup; it is null when the author account is gone (``author_user_id`` SET NULL on user delete).

  - `customer_profile_id` string, uuid, nullable
  - `business_id` string, uuid, nullable

  - `author_user_id` string, uuid, nullable

## Other responses

- `403` — Only the note's author may edit or delete it
- `404` — Note or its target was not found
- `422` — Validation Error
