# Register a new requestor (returns API key pair)

`POST /requestor/auth/signup`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.getabrain.ai/api/v1`
- URL: `https://www.getabrain.ai/api/v1/requestor/auth/signup`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key` and API key in header `X-API-Secret`
  - HTTP bearer

Fully programmatic — no CAPTCHA, no payment method. The response includes an API key pair (secret shown once). Pass `"mode": "test"` on the key-creation flow for a free test-mode key that returns synthetic responses with no balance charged.

  - `accepted_requestor_agreement` boolean, required: Must be true

## Other responses

- `400`: Request failed validation
- `409`: The request conflicts with existing state (e.g. duplicate email, or a response already rated)
- `429`: Too many requests for your account tier (see GET /requestor/usage for your limits). Wait Retry-After seconds and retry.
