# Set per-service-period default capacity

`PATCH /api/v1/service-periods/{id}/capacity`

Updates the recurring daily cap for this shift. Clamped to floor capacity (sum of Table.maxCapacity). Audited. Scope: `bookings:write`.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- object: Body must include at least one of `default_max_covers` or `slot_pacing_covers`. Pass `null` to clear; omit to leave unchanged.
  - `default_max_covers` integer, nullable: Day-level cap. null to clear.
  - `slot_pacing_covers` integer, nullable: Max covers arriving per `intervalMinutes` window. null to clear.
  - `reason` string: Audit trail context for the change.
