# Create a closure period

`POST /api/v1/closures`

## Request

Block a date range from new bookings. Does NOT cancel existing bookings inside the window — the caller must cancel each one explicitly. Write scope: bookings:write.

## Request body

- object
  - `restaurant_id` string: Required only for org-level keys with multiple restaurants.
  - `start_date` string, date, required: First day of the closure (inclusive).
  - `end_date` string, date, required: Last day (inclusive). Same as start_date for single-day closures.
  - `reason` string

## Response `201`

Closure created

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Key lacks required scope
- `422`: Validation error
