# List benchmarks with definitions

`GET /api/v1/benchmarks`

## Request

Every benchmark in the matrix, described identically (what it tests, metric, status, maintainer, source). A pure lookup: spends no credits. Each links to /api/v1/benchmarks/{id} for its model leaderboard. This is a lookup and spends no credits.

## Query parameters

- `category` 'reasoning' | 'math' | 'coding' | 'agentic' | 'chat' | 'multimodal' | 'long-context' | 'composite': Filter by benchmark category.

## Response `200`

Success.

## Other responses

- `401`: authentication_error: missing or invalid API key.
- `429`: rate_limit_error: over 300 requests/minute for this key.
