# Estimate Cost

`POST /v1/tts/max/estimate`

Count the billable characters and credits of a text **without creating a task**. Free. Uses exactly the same counting as task creation, so `credits` is what `POST /v1/tts/max` will deduct.
> **Rate limit:** 60 requests/minute (shared with `/srt/estimate`)

Estimate

- TtsMaxEstimate
  - `characters` integer: Billable characters (Max counting — see the **Voice AI Beta — Max** tag)
  - `credits` integer: Credits the text would cost: `⌈characters × 0.7⌉`

## Other responses

- `400`: Content missing, empty or too long
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
