# Unstake Crypto Funds

`POST /v1/staking/unstake`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.gemini.com`
- URL: `https://api.gemini.com/v1/staking/unstake`
- Auth: API key in header `X-GEMINI-APIKEY` and API key in header `X-GEMINI-SIGNATURE` and API key in header `X-GEMINI-PAYLOAD`

Initiates Staking withdrawals.

### Roles
The API key you use to access this endpoint must have the Trader, Fund Manager or Trader role assigned. See [Roles](/roles#roles) for more information.

  - `amount` string, decimal, required: The amount of currency to withdraw

## Response `200`

The staking withdrawal transaction

- StakingWithdrawal
  - `transactionId` string: A unique identifier for the staking transaction
  - `amount` number: The amount deposited
  - `amountPaidSoFar` number: The amount redeemed successfully
  - `amountRemaining` number: The amount pending to be redeemed
  - `currency` string: Currency code
  - `requestInitiated` string: In ISO datetime with timezone format

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - malformed request or invalid parameters
- `401`: Unauthorized - missing or invalid authentication
- `403`: ApiKey fails IP Filtering Check
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Too many requests - you have exceeded the rate limit
- `500`: Internal server error
